FAMA is a company specialized in the import and export of industrial equipment and solutions for large-scale projects, operating across several strategic sectors. We supply trucks and vans for logistics, mining and construction trucks, as well as a wide range of construction machinery, including backhoe loaders, excavators, mobile cranes, and asphalt and concrete equipment.

In the Power Generation sector, we work with state-of-the-art generators and engines from internationally renowned brands such as COELMO, MTU, CATERPILLAR, WÄRTSILÄ, MAN, Cummins, FPT, and WEICHAI, ensuring reliability and high energy performance. Our portfolio is complemented by light-duty utility vehicles.

We also operate in specialized airport services, including runway rubber removal services, Grip Tests, and the management and maintenance of airport firefighting equipment, ensuring high standards of safety and operational efficiency.

CEO

Filipe Afonso Mendes de Almeida

Trained as an economist, with an academic background at NOVA SBE and a Master’s degree in Finance from ISCTE/CEMAF, he began his career in the late 1990s in marketing and commercial management roles within the financial and services sectors.

He developed extensive contact with heavy equipment clients, including construction, mining, oil exploration, and airport management companies, identifying a clear need for credible technical and commercial partners in these industries. Building on this experience, he consolidated specialized expertise in strategic, commercial, and operational support for heavy equipment companies operating in complex and emerging markets.

Throughout his career, he has held senior leadership positions, including Marketing Director at Fiat Crédito Portugal, Commercial Director at Mondial Assistance, and Vice President of Elvia Portugal (Allianz Group).

In 2008, at the age of 33, he founded VECAUTO, becoming Importer, Distributor, and Authorized Dealer for IVECO and CASE in Angola, and later assumed the role of Chairman of the Board of Directors of IVECAR, S.A.

In 2012, he also founded Apermotor, the official ZF dealership in Angola, further strengthening his position in the heavy equipment and industrial solutions sector.

In 2025, he founded FAMA LIMITED in order to expand his activities into increasingly international markets.
